๏ What is Lifestyle medicine
๏ Understand the pillars of lifestyle medicine to explore all aspects of your lifestyle to help you improve your mental and physical wellbeing.
“With dual Fellowships in both General Practice and Lifestyle Medicine, I offer my patients a comprehensive approach to their health. I take the time to listen and learn your life story, how you see and understand your health and your values around healthcare. I then integrate this with my findings to provide a basis for shared decision making based on holistic and evidenced based care.
Lifestyle Medicine is not a quick fix. It’s a journey and I see myself as a partner and you a treasured patient. We walk side by side. Progress along the way is represented by you feeling more empowered to make the changes which will see you preventing, treating or reversing chronic disease.
Shall we begin?…..”

Dr Garnier works as General Practitioner but her real passion is Lifestyle Medicine. Lifestyle medicine is a medical specialty that uses therapeutic lifestyle interventions as a primary modality to treat chronic conditions. Lifestyle medicine certified physicians are trained to apply evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle interventions to prevent, treat and reverse disease. However, lifestyle medicine is not just about avoiding or treating disease. It’s also about feeling well and having the energy and physical capacity to engage in activities that are personally meaningful – to truly thrive.
There are six pillars of health that are encompassed by lifestyle medicine:
Lifestyle Medicine is a marathon, not a sprint; it’s about implementing long-term, ongoing, achievable goals to get you healthy, and more importantly, keep you in a healthy lifestyle
Graduating from Deakin University in 2013, having studied Post-Graduate Medicine and Surgery, Dr Garnier completed her specialist General Practice training in Queensland.
While enjoying all aspects of General Practice Dr Garnier has completed a second Fellowship in Lifestyle Medicine on account of her passion in the area. She now has an established adult based practice specialising in women’s health, shared antenatal care, mental health, chronic disease and preventative health where she enjoys applying the full breadth of her experience and specialist training.
